Lara Donatoni Matana belongs to the universe of creators who operate in harmony with Nature—artists spread across the globe in integrated groups, communicating cells, charismatic individuals who act in defense of the planet. More than an aesthetic stance, it is a pursuit of quality of life that, in itself, already envelops her creations with a special aura. In tune with this ethos, Lara’s artistic production unfolds through discarded wood, reused in a sustainable and intelligent way, drawing out seductive effects from planks, beams, logs, stumps, scraps, splinters, and veneers.
The artist Lara Donatoni Matana from Andradina, a small city in the countryside of São Paulo state, has set herself a challenge that goes beyond the horizons that the human eye can capture. The self-taught artist did not imagine that she was beginning a career towards a unique signature in the history of contemporary Brazilian art.At the age of 22, she came into contact with Art, having had training only in free courses and individual research of materials, which led her to find her own creative identity.
