Biography

During his studies, he also took extracurricular courses in fresco techniques (in Spain) and design (in Florence and Pisa). Since 2015, he has taught Art History and Drawing, and later Graphic Design, at the ISI CAST Caduti della Direttissima’s Scientific High School and Advertising Technical Institute. From 2022 to 2023, he was also a painting techniques instructor at the F. Arcangeli Art High School in Bologna.
Miccichè does not care for labels, nor does he feel his work is bound to historically established movements whose relevance has faded. As contemporary art teaches us — now more than ever — the artist must feel free to experiment as much and as well as possible with any subject, technique, or context. Miccichè fully embraces this mindset, distinguishing himself through the manual and artisanal — one could say analog — nature of his poiesis. He is deeply passionate about exploring, investigating, researching, and experimenting with both the subjects and the supports of his painting.

In recent years (2023/24/25), he has been a finalist and award winner in major international competitions such as: Exibart Prize, Combat Prize, WAO Prize, Arte Laguna, Luigi Candiani Prize, and Yicca Prize.
Among the international cities that have hosted Miccichè’s exhibitions are Amsterdam, New York, Berlin, Istanbul, Maastricht, and Munich.
