Overview
A Brooklyn-based artist, Senem Oezdogan moved from Germany to New York to study design and illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology. 
After graduating in 2010, she quickly began working with prominent clients and publishers. Her works are rooted in manual practices and fiber art, drawing strong inspiration from primary structures and architecture. Characterized by a precise balance of color and form, her art achieves perfect visual harmony. Senem Oezdogan (b. 1980)  is a painter whose practice includes painting, drawing, and fiber art. Her work focuses on the visual phenomenon of optical illusion through color, form, and contrast.

Biography
Smooth gradients give a sense of volume to bold shapes and play with the juxtaposition of what the mind knows and the eye sees. Her use of spatial composition disrupts the foreground and background and constantly forces the viewer to re-orient their sense of perspective.


Combinando concetti di struttura e forma con osservazioni sul contenuto e l’emozione, il suo lavoro trasforma la forma in volume e il volume in emozione, creando un sistema di relazioni  antropomorfe e biomorfe che fanno riferimento al corpo umano, alla natura e all’architettura.

 

Senem Oezdogan ha conseguito un M.A. presso la Ludwig Maximilian University di Monaco ed è laureata al Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) di New York. Le sue opere fanno parte di prestigiose collezioni, tra cui Sotheby’s, Bank of America e The Barings Art Collection.
