Paula López-Bravo (Madrid, 1986) is a Spanish artist who is developing her career in different fields. With a Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Art and a Master in Art Direction, she has combined her career as an actress with painting and Art performance. Her work focuses on a precise moment of our lives, on whatever makes us feel alive, as opposed to the length of existence.
ith deep knowledge of shape and hue, her painting shows a spontaneous game of colour, with abstraction in the backgrounds, which, full of brightness and vitality, immerse the viewer in the ample colour palette, as he becomes part of that instant the painter portrays. The painting borrows figures, subjects, situations and live scenes inspired by sensations, dreams, memories or experiences. It is not about offering a concrete reading of the characters or elements, but that characters are used as the means to capture the perception of those particular moments. A carpe diem full of colour. Her paintings do not talk to intellect, but to emotion, honestly, passionately, organically. Her work combines the abstract and the figurative, using a mixed technique, acrylic, spray and pastel, with which she carefully and thoughtfully decks the background to complete the painting with precise figuration and slight energetic finishing touches of improvisation. She currently lives and paints in Madrid.
